Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in Jennings County, Indiana. You will be based on the moulding line. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills The role involves mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale.
