Now hiring: we are hiring a brick mason in Mendocino County, California. You should have: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage Day-to-day duties: • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
