Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Posey County, Indiana. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Day to day you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces.
