Furnace operator wanted in East Lothian

We are recruiting: we are hiring a furnace operator in East Lothian, Scotland. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts The role involves carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. Pay around £1,800 per month, based on your experience. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
