Immediate opening: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Kanawha County, West Virginia. The job is at a rebar fabrication workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder What we are looking for: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules 2+ years on the tools preferred.
