Now hiring: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Charleston County, South Carolina. The job is at a busy garment factory. Day-to-day duties: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension You should have: • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Part-time with flexible hours.
