Garment machinist wanted in Berkshire County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a garment machinist in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. The job is on an export house sewing floor. Day to day you will sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance. You should have: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
