Fabricator-welder — Clinton County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Clinton County, New York. You will be based at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Your main tasks: • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
