Great opportunity: foundry labourer (England)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Manchester, England. The role involves: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
