Sand plant operator wanted in Oneida County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Oneida County, New York. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. The role involves: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Part-time with flexible hours.
