Immediate opening: offshore rigger (West Virginia)

Immediate opening: we are hiring an offshore rigger in Tyler County, West Virginia. You will be based at a shipyard. What we are looking for: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Day to day you will check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift. 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. $180 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
