Immediate opening: we are hiring a joiner in Haines Borough, Alaska. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of timber types, grades and fixings • NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent • Own basic hand tools On a typical shift you will check work for level, plumb and square with a spirit level; plane and sand timber to a smooth, square finish; build and erect roof trusses, rafters and stud partitions; measure and mark out timber using a tape, square and marking gauge; cut mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints with chisels and a mallet; assemble bespoke and flat-pack kitchen units and fit worktops.
