Structural MIG welder — Matanuska-Susitna Borough

Now hiring: we are hiring a structural MIG welder in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska. You will be based at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. On the job you will handle: • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing You should have: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Willing to work shifts and overtime • ITI in welder trade or equivalent Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
