Garment machinist wanted in Attala County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Attala County, Mississippi. The job is in a sampling and tailoring workshop. Your main tasks: • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance Ideal candidate: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Six days a week, one day off.
