Join our team: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Metcalfe County, Kentucky. You will work in a heavy engineering unit. Ideal candidate: • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Willing to work shifts and overtime • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings Day-to-day duties: • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
