Stitching operator — City of Hopewell

Great opportunity: we are hiring a stitching operator in City of Hopewell, Virginia. The job is on a ready-made garment production line. On a typical shift you will inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required. What we are looking for: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus Meals and transport allowance provided.
