Bar bender and fixer — Ido

Immediate opening: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Ido, Oyo State. You will work on an infrastructure project such as a metro or flyover. Day to day you will lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
