Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Madison County, New York. Day-to-day duties: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
