Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Glenn County, California. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. On a typical shift you will cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Full-time with occasional weekends.
