Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) On a typical shift you will set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
