Immediate opening: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Nottoway County, Virginia. You will be based on a structural steel site. What we are looking for: • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes Your main tasks: • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness Rotating shifts.
