Immediate opening: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Walker County, Alabama. The job is on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. Your main tasks: • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift You should have: • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire 3+ years on the tools preferred.
