Sand plant operator — Lafourche Parish

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Your main tasks: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Full-time with occasional weekends.
