Immediate opening: we are hiring a concrete finisher in Hardin County, Iowa. The job is on a building construction site. You should have: • Able to read structural drawings and bar bending schedules • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods • Able to work to tight pour schedules and night pours Your main tasks: • Fix and tie reinforcement bars and mesh as per the bar bending schedule • Set out levels with a spirit level, line and pins • Carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab • Patch honeycombs and tie-rod holes with non-shrink grout • Load, hoist and barrow concrete to the upper floors • Give broom or steel-trowel finishes as specified Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
