Immediate opening: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Chippewa County, Michigan. The role involves thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges. Ideal candidate: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Performance bonus on top of base pay. We offer $2,600 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
