Now hiring: reinforcement steel fixer (Virginia)

Join our team: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Chesterfield County, Virginia. You will be based at a rebar fabrication workshop. On the job you will handle: • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing What we are looking for: • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Six days a week, one day off.
