Brick mason — City of Petersburg

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick mason in City of Petersburg, Virginia. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. On a typical shift you will brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks We offer $5,300 per month plus benefits.
