Great opportunity: garment machinist (New York)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Cayuga County, New York. You will work in a textile and apparel unit. Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance The role involves: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
