Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Calhoun County, Illinois. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. What we are looking for: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces On a typical shift you will weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size.
