Steel erection rigger — Hampden County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Hampden County, Massachusetts. You will be based at a shipyard. You should have: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket You will attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller. 6+ years on the tools preferred. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
