You should have: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day Day-to-day duties: • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints 3+ years on the tools preferred.
