Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Day-to-day duties: • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
