Great opportunity: we are hiring a tig welder in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The job is in a food and dairy equipment factory. You will feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring). You should have: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
