On a typical shift you will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator. Requirements: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time with occasional weekends.
