Join our team: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Wheeler County, Oregon. Day to day you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
