Ideal candidate: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium The role involves bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; grind back and re-weld any defective runs.
