Immediate opening: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Guzamala, Borno State. On the job you will handle: • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams 2+ years on the tools preferred.
