Foundry labourer — City of Virginia Beach

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in City of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Basic grinding and fettling skills The role involves prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand.
