Now hiring: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Oglala Lakota County, South Dakota. The role involves: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Season and marinate meat on request • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder Requirements: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
