Finishing presser wanted in Concordia Parish

We are recruiting: we are hiring a finishing presser in Concordia Parish, Louisiana. The job is in a tailoring workshop. Day to day you will remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine Overtime paid at a premium rate.
