Immediate opening: we are hiring a vacuum press operator in Hanover County, Virginia. You will be based at a dry cleaner's. Ideal candidate: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases On a typical shift you will check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents.
