Flatlock machine operator wanted in Matanuska-Susitna Borough

Great opportunity: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska. The job is in a small denim manufacturing unit. On the job you will handle: • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers Requirements: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line Six days a week, one day off.
