Requirements: • Able to read grade stakes, drawings and site levels • Familiar with GPS and laser machine-control systems Day-to-day duties: • Refuel the machine and record running hours • Work to the dig plan and the banksman's signals • Cut and fill ground to the levels marked on the grade stakes • Carry out pre-start checks on tracks, hydraulics, coolant and engine oil • Clear land of trees, stumps and debris before earthworks begin Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
