Moulder wanted in Hoonah-Angoon Census Area

Vacancy available: we are hiring a moulder in Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, Alaska. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. The role involves shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Six days a week, one day off.
