Immediate opening: we are hiring a bricklayer in Taylor County, West Virginia. You will work on a scaffolded high-rise site. Day-to-day duties: • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod Ideal candidate: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
