Ideal candidate: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites On a typical shift you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman.
