Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Loudoun County, Virginia. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day to day you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant.
