Crane rigger • Hertfordshire, England

Great opportunity: we are hiring a crane rigger in Hertfordshire, England. You will be based in a steel fabrication yard. On the job you will handle: • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight Ideal candidate: • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
