Blocklayer — Haywood County

Now hiring: we are hiring a blocklayer in Haywood County, Tennessee. You will work at a groundworks and structures site. Day-to-day duties: • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks Full-time, day shift.
