Vacancy available: we are hiring a precision welder in Wyandotte County, Kansas. The role involves set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal. You should have: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. $4,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
